Caffeine, Studying, War and Procrastination

The problem with caffeine is that the more you use it, the less its effect is. I envy those students who can stay up all night to study simply by providing themselves with a constant supply of coffee. For me, that coffee might as well be warm milk; I’m just as sleepy after drinking it, if not more. When I pull an “all-nighter” the power that keeps me up all night isn’t some magical substance like caffeine, its simple the fact that my lazy ass slept all day.

Sleeping is possibly my greatest skill. I swear I could sleep all day if I didn’t have anything to do. In fact on my days off the only thing preventing me from taking such action is the all-too-real possibility that I will miss out on TV or food. Even so, if my VCR were set so it would record all of the entertaining garbage that I would love to watch, I would probably spend two weeks at a time in bed, the other two weeks would be spent in a massive all-nighter, getting caught up.

In other news, it seems that we are going to be going to war with Iraq. Funny thing about this is, as my dad mentioned to me, there doesn’t seem to be a huge amount of protesting going on on-campus. In the words of my dad, “college students are not against was anymore?” You see, the thing is, that College students have too much work to do to protest. Its not that there isn’t a huge amount of anti-war sentiment around here, its just that its very difficult to protest when you have midterms.

If sleeping is my greatest skill, then procrastination comes in a close second, as I type I am only hours away from a deadline on a 4-page paper in my philosophy class. I haven’t even read the book yet. Not only will this paper be in on time, though, it is guaranteed to earn me at least a B+. Why? Because I’m fucking good. Why else?

Well, thats all I have to say. Back to endless hours of work. Fuck You College!
