Some Professors are Completely Out of It

So I get this email from my philosophy professor the other night. Its still Spring Break, by the way. To my suprise, she was emailing the class an assignment, due the monday after break. 500 words on why I deserve an A. Plus some bullshit about Nietzche that nobody is going to do. Anyway, two points are being made here: 1) Spring break is time off from classes. No work should EVER be assigned over break, ever. 2) I hate having to justify why I deserve an A.

The fact is, I DON'T deserve an A in philosophy. Fuck, I haven't opened the book once yet, not even out of curiosity. I don't care about that class. I show up late, on purpose, and I never participate unless forced to do so, even then, the best I can do is to say something so utterly, mind-bogglingly confusing that she has to move on. I skip that class whenever I am too tired to wake up at 7:45.

I didn't read the text before writing my last paper (a B+), I just Googled for some quotes (it was on Plato... easy availability of quotes) and tossed something together. The argument sucked too, but whatever. I probably won't read the text before writing my next one, I don't intend to, anyway.

In short, I really don't deserve an A. I deserve a D at best, but she has no chance of me writing that shit in my paper. I'll make up some bullshit on Sunday night (3am) about why I deserve an A+, and it'll be convincing as all hell. Why? because although I don't take academics seriously, I do take grades seriously. I get by doing the minimum required of me. You can say I am lazy, but I'm going to stick with "unmotivated." You see, I am paying THEM $17k per semester so that I can work my ass off. So I just don't feel like doing work for less than nothing. Would you?
